GITA CHANTING COMPETITION - 2016

Winners and participants of the final round of the annual Gita chanting competition, organised by Chinmaya Mission, were felicitated at a function in Setupati Higher Secondary School here on Sunday.
According to the organisers, nearly 11,500 children, studying from LKG to Plus One in various schools, participated at the preliminary round of the competition. The organisers said that, of the 11,500 children, 600 were selected for the finals.
The competition was held in five categories, from Group A to Group E. Participants in Group A, who recited the portions completely, were given certificates and memontos.
While the final round for Group B and C was conducted at Chinmaya Mission last Sunday, the finals for remaining groups were held at Setupati Higher Secondary School this Sunday.
Murali Pakshirajan of Green Signal Biopharma inaugurated the felicitation function.
S. Meenakshi Sundaram, president of the Chinmaya Mission, welcomed the guests.
P. Namperumalsamy, Chairman Emeritus of Aravind Eye Care Systems, was the chief guest. Chandrasekaran Veluchamy distributed the prizes.
